A near record turnout fished what turned out to be a rather diappointing match. Heavy showers punctuated the morning’s fishing followed by bright warm sunshine for the afternoon. Most of the bigger weights came from the Front Lake, where a few Carp showed but even this lake was very “peggy” with a number of good anglers struggling or failing to catch. The large Rudd did not show on the Back Lake with the “hot” pegs - 32,57,60 and 64 - all proving to be disappointing. Even the pole anglers struggled to find the masses of small roach, rudd, and perch that normally plague them. And the Bream were remarkable by their absence with the only sizeable one being landed by Lee Patrick, and that was in the Back Lake.
