wickangling.co.uk Point-A-Fish match

The “wickangling.co.uk Point-A-Fish match” took place on Sunday 26th October on the Front Lake in order to raise money for the “Fish Fund”. Fish were counted rather than weighed and one point was awarded per fish, irrespective of size but excluding “fry” - the angler with most points being declared the winner.

All proceeds from the match were given over to the “Fund” to assist with restocking the lakes.

The match was sponsored by www.wickangling.co.uk in association with Jacks Angles. A trophy, and prizes and certificates were awarded to first and second places and each angler received a free bottle of French sparkling wine.

Special thanks go to:
- Jack Davison for helping with the organisation
- Roger Lock for his generous donation
- Lee Patrick, Peter Banks and Ted Coffill who were unable to fish but still donated
- Derek Mansfield for his extra donation
- John Easey (Deans Tackle) for his donation and providing the key-fobs for the draw.

Tha match raised £248 for the “Fish Fund”.

15 anglers battled for the trophy in the pouring rain, which did not stop throughout the match. Fortunately, just before the whistle the rain abated allowing at least the “count-in” to take place without everyone getting soaked.

Roger Lock caught only one fish, but it was a lovely Bream of 5lb 11oz. A pity really because it would, under normal circumstances, been top weight.
